Introducing the Green Innovation Compass

What lessons should we remember from MAGPIE? What is our legacy?

All of them! But more seriously, one of the main lessons from MAGPIE, as highlighted in our final event Learning Labs, is that much of the technology we need is already available, from digital twins to hydrogen-powered locomotives. The gaps are elsewhere: finance, regulation, coordination, and skills have indeed not yet caught up. That is why we developed a repository, the Green Innovation Compass, bringing all MAGPIE solutions together, technical or not, to help ports identify and combine the technologies best suited to their specific context. The Compass own architecture was designed to support this. And because there is no one-size-fits-all solution and scaling up is not straightforward, all MAGPIE three fellow ports, covering different configurations helped us work on it. Watch the tutorial below to get familiar with it! Finally, in keeping with the spirit of the project, all these solutions are open source and freely accessible through the Green Innovation Compass.
