A review of MAGPIE’s most recent academic publications

An important facet of the European MAGPIE project is the dissemination of results and knowledge to various audiences and stakeholders. One of the key audiences are research actors and students. The MAGPIE Consortium therefore works on publishing various academic papers on the results and findings of our project. On August 8, 2023, Maarten Flikkema published an academic article titled “MAGPIE: Towards the European Green port of the Future”. This paper discusses the project plans and preliminary developments, and looks ahead to the results of the project. Furthermore, Kris Sooprayan and Jeroen Pruyn (TU Delft) have delivered the paper “Factors for innovation adoption by ports: a systematic literature review” on August 21, 2024. It investigates the factors influencing innovation adoption in ports by conducting a systematic literature review and proposes a comprehensive framework for understanding the process of innovation adoption. It argues that factors for innovation adoption applicable to a business-to-consumer market are also relevant to a business-to-business market. Hesam Nagash & Jeroen Pruyn (TUD) presented two papers more recently. The first paper is “Shifting Waves of Shipping: A Review on Global Shipping Projections and Methodologies”, this will be soon available as a journal article pending acceptance of the last review (minor revisions) in the Journal of Shipping and Trade. The second paper is “Bilateral Energy Trade Evolution under Different Climate Scenarios”, which is currently being considered for publication in Engineering by the IAME Conference. The IAME Conference in 2024, organised in Valencia, had as a lead topic “Building innovative maritime ecosystems: Smart, Green & Valuable for society”, which we would argue is a topic that the MAGPIE project embodies. The MAGPIE project will continue to publish academic papers based on its findings.
